eSnips matches your 'social DNA' with others

eSnips is a social networking platform that launched in 2006. Traditional social networks like Facebook and Myspace allow people to discover like-minded people through tags and common friends. eSnips takes this to the next level.

eSnips helps people discover friends by matching up their "social DNA." Visitors take quizzes and create lists spanning across multiple topics such as literary, cinematic, musical and dietary preferences. These preferences make up that person's social DNA. It is kind of like an online profile on steroids.

The site has been growing in popularity since launch, especially with the younger audience. While a lot of the quizzes seem trivial, I think tweens and teens are gravitating toward it because it plays right to their need to get their profile perfect. The latest study indicates that teens are spending on average an hour a week fiddling with their profile. eSnips brought them exactly what they wanted: an extremely robust and intuitive way to express themselves.
